Freedom isn’t a fantasy. It’s a decision. And it’s one I’ve made - over and over again.
For years, I followed the rules. I did what was expected of me.
I worked hard. Mostly in the service industry. I lived in a big city where everything I wanted to do was expensive. If I craved nature, I had to take the tram, the subway or a bus, just to be able to touch and smell it.
I grew up on a small farm in the north of Norway.
I missed walking out the front door and being in wild nature instantly.
I didn’t know there could be anything more out there for me.
But I had a dream.
A dream of moving to the countryside.
Of being surrounded by silence, wild animals, trees.
Of adventures that weren’t limited to 2–3 weeks of approved holiday.
My mother once said: “You can’t live off your dreams. You can't eat your dreams!”
What if the real question isn’t:
“Can you live off your dream?”
But rather:
“Can you live without it?”
I couldn’t.
So I made a different choice. I stopped chasing someone else’s version of success and started creating my own.
Goerill.com is the result of that.
The road has been very long, winding, and bumpy. I haven’t reached my ultimate dream yet - Owning my own place in the wild. But I am closer. And I will get there. Because I keep choosing to believe in my dreams - and in myself.
This space is for the ones like me.
The dreamers who are done waiting.
The ones who’ve lived long enough to know there has to be more - and who are ready to claim it.
